Hi ,
my name is Ellen Crouch, I am looking for part of my family tree, My
fathers parents died long before I was born, & my father knows very
little about his family history . He knows though, that he is 1 18th cherricie
indian . Which would make me a 27th . My grandmother , Pauline Ellen Whiteaker.
My grandfathers name was Robert Dean Croch Sn. I know also that my grandmothers
fathers name was Jess Whiteaker , As you can see I know very little about
my fathers side of the family. So if you could maybe locate some info.I
would greatly appreciate it ! Thank you for your help!

Thomas Fitzgibbons came by ship out of Belfast,I'm not sure of the date.
He jumped ship in St. John's Newfoundland & to hide from the authorities
he took his mother's maiden name of Moore. He settled in the Trinity Bay
area of Newfoundland. Some of his decendants are still in the area. Some
have become far flung!
He was a member of Newfoundland's parliament in the 1800's. Some info
should be available at the Newfoundland Provincial Archives if it would
be of any benefit to you.

I am decended from Blanche Dixon and Arthur Moore who met and married in
Iowa in the early 1900's. My Grandfather's family ran the newspaper in
Waterloo Iowa, also I think at the turn of the century. Several of them
were journalists in Iowa. I'd love to know if we are related! My father
is David Moore and I have two uncles, Jack (in Houston) and Mack (in Texas
somewhere). They were raised in kansas city, Mo. and were active Methodists.
Thanks!

I've only gotten to John D. Moore abt. 1810 married Ann Amelia Allen in
Prince Georges Co, MD on 27 Nov 1838. His first son William Thomas Moore
was known as Uncle Billy and ran a Blacksmith Shop at the corner of Westphilia
Rd and Old Marlboro Pike and his Son John Llewellyn (Uncle Lew) ran it
until his death. The right side of Wesphilia Road was owned by John D.

Dear Sir/Madame:
I am descended from an Abraham Wesley Nabors and a Mary Ann Moore.
I believe Abraham Wesley died in 1865 before his son, Wesley, was born.
Wesley would be my maternal great-grandfather. As for Mary Ann Moore, I
believe she went on to re-marry, this time to a "Farrington." Know very
little about her and was delighted to see your web site as I am having
great trouble getting anything about her.
Unfortunately, as I write this, I am at my parent's house in Lake Charles,
LA, and do not have access to my three-ring binder and all that it contains
(I keep copies and documentations) in Austin, Texas. When my vacation is
over with this Saturday, I will return to Austin and provide you with more
details about Mary Ann Moore. She could be an additional twig in your tree.
Thanks in advance (and I can't check my e-mail until Saturday),
Dan Flanagan

Great Webpage. Was hoping to find a connection to my Carrs.
My greatgrandmother was Charlotte C. Carr, Married William S. Harper
in Carroll Co, GA Dec. 5, 1872. We know that an Allen B. Carr of Carroll
Co, Ga had a daughter names Charlotte Catherine Carr. Our Charlotte's nickname
was Callie. There is a Sanford Chambers that has a Caroline "Callie" Karr
and he has in his info that she married A William S. Harper. However, don't
know how he came to this conclusion. Your web page address was given to
me by Shirley McKinney of FL. She is connected to Hattie Karr. If you read
this and can shed any light on my ancestor it would be greatly appreciated
if you would let me know.
Dreams & Wishes,
Mary S. Hymel

I don't think we are related, although your Jemison records
don't go back far enough to tell for sure. William Jemison
came to KY to claim a veterans landgrant after the Rev war,
and fathered William. Mary and Alexander, who fathered nine
children between 1800 and 1823. If this may help tie in with your Jemisons,

casually looking up moore. I presume you know this but there are both English
and Irish (Gaelic) variations of Moore. The Irish one is a Anglicized version
of O'Mordha (roughly meaning 'majestic') and originates in the Laois area
of Ireland (where they led a successful rebellion against English 'ethnic
cleansing' in the 15th century. It is often spelled as More or O'More also.
I have no idea if we have any connections as I don't have any relations
in the US but it is a very old Irish name. The English Moore is a completely
different name and is also common in Ireland.
In any case, good luck.
